Letters patent of Henry IV to Roger de Thornton for his service in the defence of Newcastle against the earl of Northumberland and other rebels granting him the manors of Kirklevington and Acklam in Cleveland and the land called le Foucher Hous in the lordship of Whickham which were forfeited by the earl of Northumberland, Lasyngby and Boynton.

The copy of the charter dates to 1440 with the petition to which it was attached. The charter itself dates in its dating clause to 28 July 1405 (CPR 1405-8, p.30).
