Nature of request
The abbot requests that the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer be commanded by writ to make allowance of the sum due to him from the king for wool taken to the king's use against that demanded from him from his temporalities and spiritualities in the province of York, the abbot paying the remainder.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they view the patent mentioned in the petition, and if the sum is found to be due then they are to make allowance to the abbot in the wool demanded from him so that the king be answered for the sum due from the abbot after the allowance has been made.
