The petitioners, excepting the abbot, who have inherited an annual rent from the manors of Collingham and Bardsey and the advowson of the church in Middleton as heirs of the late earl of Kent, request consent to grant the advowson to the abbot, and to discharge him of the rent that he pays for the manors of Collingham and Bardsey.

Note
As this petition is answered in exactly the same way both on the face and dorse as SC 8/152/7596, and shares a common petitioner in the guise of the duke of York, it seems likely that the petitions are contemporary. If this is the case the petition cannot be earlier than late 1455, and can be no later than the 3 November 1456 when the earl of Richmond died. If these assumptions are correct, the petition belongs to the July parliament of 1455 which was prorogued to dates late in 1455 and early 1456.
