Note (Additional information about the record)
- As this petition is answered in exactly the same way both on the face and dorse as SC 8/152/7596, and shares a common petitioner in the guise of the duke of York, it seems likely that the petitions are contemporary. If this is the case the petition cannot be earlier than late 1455, and can be no later than the 3 November 1456 when the earl of Richmond died. If these assumptions are correct, the petition belongs to the July parliament of 1455 which was prorogued to dates late in 1455 and early 1456.
