Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/152/7574
Date
[c. 1330]
Description
Petitioners
Herman de Warnethorp, merchant of Almaigne.
Name(s)
de Warnethorp, Herman
Addressees
King and council.
Places mentioned
Almaigne (Germany)
Boston, [Lincolnshire]
Westminster.
Nature of request
Warnethorp requests remedy as despite petitioning at the parliament held in 4 Edw. IIII and a writ for payment or allowance to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer he still has not been paid or allowance made in the next wool custom for a loan made to the king at Boston, and he requests execution of the first award.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer, barons and chamberlains of the Exchequer that they view the first writ and make execution according to it.
Note
The petition dates to c. 1330 as the order to pay the petitioner in the close rolls seems to be a response to an earlier petition (SC 8/152/7573), and this petition refers to a petition to the parliament in 1330 (CCR 1330-3, p.90). It seems unlikely that this petition will be too long after 1330 as the sum is such a large one.
