Reference
SC 8/152/7573
Date
[c. 1330]
Description
Petitioners
Herman de Warnethorp, merchant of Almaigne.
Name(s)
de Warnethorp, Herman
Addressees
King and council.
Places mentioned
Almaigne, (Germany)
Boston, [Lincolnshire].
Nature of request
Warnethorp requests right and remedy as despite petitioning at several parliaments and a writ for payment or allowance to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer he still has not been paid or allowance made in wool that he will export for a loan made to the king at Boston.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery containing the first order and the effect of the petition to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they make payment or allowance if the sum is due.
Note
The petition dates to c. 1330 as it seems likely that an order to pay the petitioner in the close rolls was in response to this petition (CCR 1330-3, p.90). However, the petition does refer to earlier petitions and orders, so it is possible that the petition postdates this order, and SC 8/152/7574 is a later petition by the same petitioner on the same matter.
