Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition has been dated speculatively to c. 1310-c. 1330 partly on the basis that the petition makes mention of the justice John de Inge who was a justice of common pleas by January 1331., and partly on the basis of the hand (Sainty, Judges of England, p.63). The petition is endorsed in French so the petition may date to after the 1322 when such endorsements became dominant.
