Nature of request
Wautham requests that the fraud committed by Foylet be attainted as she granted him a messuage and a carucate of land in Waltham to him and his heirs from his body for a certain rent, but he fraudulently altered the terms in a fine and by conspiracy with her attorney in her absence so she cannot have recovery or the rent, and she requests right is done to her.

The petition dates to 1290 as a brief Latin summary probably of this petition was enrolled in the Michaelmas parliament of that year (Rot. Parl., vol. I, p.55b (no.117)). Waltham is clearly either White Waltham or neighbouring Waltham St Lawrence, but there is no indication as to which.
