Nature of request
[Petition in 10 parts; several of the petitions have suffered extensive damage].1) The abbot and convent request that the points of their royal charters be granted as their petitions submitted previously have not been answered.2) They request the delivery of 5 robbers who escaped from the prison of Westminster as the justices in eyre in Middlesex wish to charge them with escape when they should be delivered to them as ordinary.3) They request grace concerning a charge in the Exchequer for the escape of 2 clerks.4) They request [remedy] and a writ to the justices that they are not to proceed to judgment in the eyre of Surrey concerning their right to hold the fair of St Edward.5) They request that they can have the forfeited goods of the people within their fees.6) [Petition concerning frank almoigne in the vill of Wycke, and arrears from the same].7) [Petition concerning the disturbance of their rights that they have in Worcestershire as they have in Gloucestershire].8) [Petition concerning a tenement that Stratton had in the town of Westminster of the fee of the abbot and convent];9) They request that it is ordered that their rent of Wheatley be paid as they have been unable to distrain without a special order of the king because one tenant of the king holds part of a tenement there.10) They request grace concerning debts at the Exchequer.
