The abbot and convent request remedy since although their hamlet of Hungrecloune has not been in the forest of Sherwood since it was disafforested in the time of Henry III, the justices of the Forest are now charging regard and other articles pertaining to the law and assize.

Let the justice of the Forest be called to inform the king of his right.

The petition is dated speculatively to 1327-1345 on the basis of the reference to Edward I being grandfather of the current king. Clowne is now a lost place (EPNS Nottinghamshire, p.104).
