[This petition is damaged]The weavers of London state that they have their guild by charter of Henry II, but that a great reduction in their number, and the setting-up of a separate guild of linen-weavers, has meant that they can no longer afford to pay their farm of 20 marks. They ask the lords to ask the King that all weavers dwelling within London and five miles around might be chargeable for this farm, and come under the guild's correction.
