Description

Alexander de la Worth.
Name(s)
Worth, Alexander
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Alexander de la Worth states that in the King's father's sixth year, John de Excestre, Treasurer of the church of St Peter of Exeter, purchased 2 marks of rent issuing from tenements held in villeinage in Downton in Hampshire, and that he died seised of this rent and his right in it descended to his sister, Emma, and then to her son, Alexander. But because the tenements from which the rent came were held of the manor of Christchurch, they were taken into the King's father's hand after John's death, and has remained in the King's hand until now, because Emma never sued for it, and Alexander has not sued until now. He requests a remedy.
