Nature of request
William, son of Adam de Wodehouse, states that Alice de Rumle, lady of the honour of Skipton in Craven, gave his ancestor, Hugh de Wodehouse, some lands in Woodhouse, together with the office of master forester of her free chases in the honour, and that he and his ancestors were seised of these until Peter de Chirche, formerly Bailiff of the honour of Skipton in Craven, in the second year of the King's reign, when Henry de Lascy, Earl of Lincoln, held the honour at farm of the King, wrongly expelled him from the office. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
Certain faithful people are to be appointed in Chancery to inquire into the truth of the contents of the petition; and the inquisition is to be returned in Chancery.John de Mauleverer and Adam de Hoperton.
