Description
Petitioners
John le Walsche of Shrewsbury.
Name(s)
Walsche, John
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
John le Walsche of Shrewsbury states that he was attached at the suit of Thomas de Newebyngg, to be at this next parliament to answer to what he would accuse him of. He has come, but he is a poor man, and is remaining here to the great harm of his livelihood. He requests the grace of the King and council for his delivery.
Nature of endorsement
John and all the others who are prosecuted by Thomas de Neubigging are to come before Hervey de Stanton and his companions, and the said Thomas is to be made to come there, and full justice is to be done.
Places mentioned
Shrewsbury, [Shropshire].
People mentioned
Thomas de Newebyngg (Neubigging), clerk
Hervey de Stanton (Staunton).
Note
The mention of a number of people prosecuted by Thomas de Neubigging seems to link this petition to SC 8/145/7229, which can be dated to early 1324. This would agree with the mention of parliament and of Hervey de Staunton.
