Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Westminster state that they petitioned parliament in the King's first year, requesting £8 which they used to receive as a tithe from the farm of Droitwich, which had been withheld from them from 5 March, 11 Edward II [1318], and also that they might have an allowance for the arrears of this rent in the debts which they owed the King; and this was granted and they had writs to the Exchequer to allow them the arrears. However, they have not been able to have the £8 since then, and request a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
The charter is to be examined in Chancery, and, when the justices and others of the King's council, justice is further to be done to the Abbot.
