Nature of request
Oliver de Wisset, parson of the church of Wakefield, makes two requests:1) He asks the King to order the Escheator north of the Trent to give him and his church the tithes of the mills of Wakefield, both for the time that Wakefield has been in his hand during the minority of John de Warenne, and for the remainder of the minority.2) He also asks that the Escheator might be ordered to allow him housebote and haybote in the woods of Wakefield, and pannage for his own pigs and those of his tenants, as he and his predecessors have had from time immemorial.
Nature of endorsement
The Escheator is to be ordered to inquire if the parson was in seisin of those tithes in the time of the Earl, and if so, satisfaction is to be given to him for the King's time.The Escheator is to be ordered in the same way for the second petition.
