Nature of request
John de Wanetynge, Warden of Merton College, Oxford, states that in the time of the King's father he brought a writ of darrein presentment against Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, concerning the advowson of the church of Embleton, Northumberland, and that the plea was delayed by procurement of the Earl until the present quinzaine of Easter: but the Earl has now died. He asks that the matter might be heard and tried, so that his house is not disinherited, notwithstanding the Earl's death and forfeiture.

Coram rege.The record and process are to be brought and examined.Afterwards the record and process were brought into Chancery and a day was given on this to the Warden etc. three weeks after Michaelmas.Afterwards a day was given on this at the quinzaine of St Hilary.
