Nature of request
Robert, son and heir of John de Wellum, states that his father purchased half a bovate of land in Misterton from Ralph Damyot, and that John and Robert held this land for forty years and more, as has been found by inquisition returned in Chancery, but that one John Damyot, claiming to be a kinsman of Ralph's, has expelled him by claiming that Ralph was an idiot, and the land seized into the King's hand for that reason: although the inquest found that Ralph was never an idiot, nor the land taken into the King's hand for that reason.
Nature of endorsement
The inquisition returned in Chancery is to be examined, and, if it is established that it was taken in the presence of the parties, or that the parties were warned and did not want to be present, the land is then to be returned etc. And the escheator is to be ordered to cease executing the first command etc.
