Nature of request
Robert Litester of Alford, tenant of the Duke of Lancaster, states that his former servant, William de Repon, stole his goods and chattels, and that he sued against him until he was taken and put into the Archbishop of York's prison at Ripon, and Robert was given a day at Ripon. But before that day William escaped, with the aid of the bailiffs. Robert has sued the Archbishop of York, as lord of the town and prison, but he has delayed him for three years. He requests a remedy.

He is to have the writ in Chancery formulated for his case against the Archbishop or the warden, at the plaintiff's choice, provided that the defendant may have his response at law.
