Geoffrey de Welleford, Warden of the House of St Cross near Winchester, states that he sued an oyer et terminer against Robert de Maydenstan, Simon Potyn of Rochester, and others, who had forcibly taken from his house goods and chattels worth £500, meant for the sustenance of the poor people there, and that they were put in exigent. They have now sued a writ of the privy seal to the justices and to the Sheriff of Hampshire to cease execution of this exigent. He asks that this might be repealed and the matter returned to its previous estate.
