[This petition is damaged.]William Warddieux, clerk, states that Simon Warde, Sheriff of Rutland, and others had conspired . . . the manor of Leighfield by disseisin, and that William had sued against them for four years, but Simon had delayed his suit [by colour of] his office. He also states that he has been Sheriff for two years, contrary to the statute. He asks that he might be expelled from that office and some other more loyal person appointed in his place.
