Roger Wodecok states that on the Saturday before the translation of St Thomas the martyr in the King's twenty-sixth year, Richard Lanorck and Walter Noyell seized him and took him to Richard Tregoys of Tregoose, esquire, who bound him up, cut off his ear, and mis-treated him severely. He has sued many writs and letters of the privy seal to have Richard Tregoys appear to find security of the peace and to do and receive what the King would decide, but Richard has refused to appear. He asks the commons to ask the King, by authority of parliament, to allow him to sue an appeal of maiming against Richard Tregoys.

Note
Dated to 1448-? 1451, with reference to the Saturday before the translation of St Thomas the martyr, 26 Henry VI (July 1448), and to the delay in the petitioner's suit, and also to CPR 1446-52 p.585, which is dated 24 July 1452. The petition was clearly presented in parliament, and parliament was sitting on 15 March in 1449, 1450 and 1451 (and indeed also in 1453). For details of Richard Tregoys, see J. Wedgwood, 'History of Parliament, 1439-1509: Biographies', pp.866-7. Tregoose lay in the parish of St Columb Major.
