Nature of request
Thomas West and Alice his wife state that on the Sunday after the feast of the Translation of St Thomas last, Nicholas de Clyfton persuaded Alice West, her son and daughter and others of her household to ride out into the New Forest with him, and there he ambushed them with armed men, attacked them, and ravished their daughter Eleanor; because of which attack Alice is ill and likely to die. They request a remedy.
