- Roger Wodeford states that although he was with Robert de Verdon in his rebellion against the King's father, this was against his will and for fear of death; and for this reason he was pardoned, but nevetheless his lands were taken into the King's hand. He asks that he might have them back, as they are in the march and lying fallow, bringing the King no income, and considering his hardships and losses in the wars in Scotland and Ireland in the time of the King's father.
