Nature of request
The Prior of Worcester states that the manor of Bewdley is held of him for the services of 20 s. annually, but that since it has been in the King's hand because of the minority of Roger, son and heir of Edmund de Mortimer, the keeper has withheld this rent. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
There is to be an inquisition by the Escheator, in the presence of the keeper of the manor, into whether the manor is held of the Prior for the service of 20 s. annually, and if the Prior and his predecessors were seised of the same rent before the manor came into the King's hand, and from what time. And when the inquisition has been returned in Chancery, justice is to be done.
