Nature of request
This petition contains two complaints against William Curson and his associates:1) John White of Swannington complains that John de Yelverton and others, at the procurement of William Curson, cut and carried off his corn on the Friday before the feast of St Lawrence last, and assaulted his people. He requests a remedy.2) Thomas, parson of the church of Swannington, states that Henry Curson, son of William Curson, and others, at William's command, came to his church on the eve of St Botolph last, broke into the enclosure, assaulted his servants and threatened his priest. The priest escaped, and fled for three weeks, so that the church was without divine service, as Thomas did not dare to approach, having been indicted of felony by the procurement of William Curson, William de Wychyngham and Richard his son. He requests a remedy.
