Nature of request
Robert de Umframvill, Earl of Angus, states that in the King's fourteenth year, Bartholomew de Baddelesmere, knight, William Raude, knight, and John de Hegham, valet, made a recognisance for a debt they owed him, to be paid at the following quinzaine of Michaelmas and Hilary, with provision for the sum to be levied from their lands and tenements in default of payment. These lands are now all in the King's hand, and he requests a remedy, of the grace of the King and council, in view of his losses at the hands of the Scots.
Nature of endorsement
Coram domino rege.With regard to those who survive, he is to sue against them at common law; and if they are in prison he is to await their release and then sue etc.
