William de Ufton states that he is attached by Thomas de Neubiggyng, for what reason he does not know, and handed over to John de Oxenford, one of the Sheriffs of London, to guard until the King's coming. He asks that he might be released.

John de Oxenford was Sheriff of London from 1323-1324. The fact that the writ resulting from this petition (SC 8/145/7230) summons him before the council on the morrow of Ash Wednesday suggests a date early in 1324.
