Robert de Veer, Earl of Oxford, and Philippa his wife, state that the manors, lands and tenements which Joan, widow of John de Coupeland held for term of life should have remained after her death to Enguerrand de Coucy, Earl of Bedford, Philippa's father, and Isabel her mother, and to the heirs of their bodies, but that because of Enguerrand's rebellion they are in the King's hand. Robert and Philippa ask that they might hold them for term of Enguerrand's life.
