Nature of request
Wenllian vergh David Loyt (Lloyd), the King's bond tenant of Trefriw, states that David Cradok, Justice of North Wales had her indicted of a felony, by the procurement of ill-wishers of Hugh Coly, formerly Sheriff of Caernarfonshire, because she wished him well, and that she was imprisoned in Conwy castle, and held there until she had made fine for her deliverance, and had also paid Henry Wildebors, Lieutenant of Conwy castle. She asks that the matter might be inquired into by the good people of the country, and that if it is found that she is not guilty of the felony, that she might be pardoned the fine.

Note
Hugh Coly was Sheriff of Caernarfonshire between June 1376 and May 1378, and again between Michaelmas 1390 and June 1395. David Cradock was Justice of North Wales in 1373 and between July 1376 and June 1377: so the period when this imprisonment took place would seem to coincide with Cradock's second term of office. Hugh Coly is currently not Sheriff, so this petition would seem to date from between May 1378 and Michaelmas 1390.
