In Chancery. It is expedited, and he has a writ of trespass.

Frindsbury, Kent
Bakenhamesfeld [unidentified], [Kent]
High Halstow, [Kent]
Hoo hundred, [Kent].
People mentioned
William Swetleg, King's bailiff.
Note
The thefts took place on the Tuesday before St Matthew (21 September), 16 Edward I (1288), and on the Wednesday after Michaelmas (29 September) in the same year. The petition would be likely to date from shortly after this. There is a slight possibility that the word 'cessyme' means 'sixth' rather than 'sixteenth': in which case the thefts would have taken place in 1278. But the later date is much more likely.
