Note
This petition can be dated to the reign of Edward II by the mention of the late King. The French endorsement would suggest a date later in the reign of Edward II, most probably in the 1320s.John de Droxford was Keeper of the Wardrobe 1295-1307 and 1308-1309. E 101/359/2 is mentioned on the guard: this dates to 29 Edward I (20 November 1300-19 November 1301) and appears to have been referred to as evidence for the names of the wardrobe officials mentioned in the petition.
