Nature of request
Roger le Teseler states that Robert Gyen, Under-butler of Bristol, by colour of his office and for hatred of him, took from him at the feast of St Margaret in the King's second year seventeen tuns of wine, promising to pay him within forty days; but he neither paid him not returned the wine to him, until Michaelmas, when the town was awash with wine, when he returned the wine: to his great harm. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
This petition is to be sent to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, so that, when the petition and the things contained in it have been examined, and the parties called before them, they are further to provide a swift remedy and justice.

Note
The wine was taken at the feast of St Margaret, 2 Edward III (July 1328), and kept until the following Michaelmas (September 1328). This petition probably dates from shortly afterwards.
