Poor people of the land.

Nature of request
The poor people of the land complain about the wrongs and oppressions inflicted upon them by the stewards, bailiffs and other ministers of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, and ask that these ministers might not be reconciled, or given office, until their position is tried by jury.

The King will be advised on the contents of the petition.

Note
Edited in Rot. Parl. vol. I p.394a (no. 38) among petitions ascribed to 15 and 16 Edward II (8 July 1321-7 July 1323). From the content it would seem to date from shortly after the fall of the Earl of Lancaster.
