Nature of request
The petitioners state that after the provision made in the previous parliament for all those who would lend money to the King, they bound themselves to Cardinal Beaufort for large sums of money, which he lent to the King. The day for repayment of these sums is passed, and they have had no repayment, although they have sued for it. They ask the commons to ask the King, with the assent of the lords, to ordain for immediate repayment of these sums. The said lords temporal, and other knights, the King's servants, listed on the schedule attached to this petition, ask the commons, in consideration of their service to the King in France, especially as regards his coronation, with men and other things, that they might have the payment assignments promised to them.

[On face] Let it be sent to the lords.With regard to this last petition, it is to be done as requested, but with regard to the other things contained above, nothing has been done.[None on dorse]

Dated to 1432, with reference to the mention of 28 September 10 Henry VI (1431), which appears to be in the last year and certainly since the last parliament, and the references to the King's absence in France and to his coronation there.
