Nature of request
Giles Thorndon, esquire, states that a number of grants made to him, up to and including that of the office of Treasurer of Ireland, have been annulled by the act of resumption in the last parliament, and asks the King, with the advice and assent of the lords and commons of parliament, and by authority of parliament, to ordain that these grants are to remain in force.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] The lords agree to this bill as is desired, with regard to all grants made to Giles in Ireland; saving to the King or his lieutenant of Ireland the disposition of the office of Treasurer of that land. The commons have assented to this bill.[None on dorse]

Note
The petitioner's manor of Crumlin is exempted from the 1450 act of resumption (Rot. Parl. vol. V, p.197a), but there is no mention of his other grants. There are various mentions of the petitioner in the Patent and Close rolls during the 1440s (CPR 1441-6 p.271 (18 May 1444) and p.457 (22 July 1446), CCR 1441-7 p.175 (18 May 1444) and CPR 1446-52 p.147 (11 March 1448)) which may or may not be relevant. The petition would seem most likely to date to the years immediately following the act of resumption in 1450.
