Nature of request
William Tyrell states that on the Saturday after All Souls day in the King's thirty-first year (1452) he was indicted at Thaxted of being part of a conspiracy to rise up and kill the King in July of the King's twenty-eighth year (1450), but claims that this indictment was made maliciously by his enemies, and states that he was acquitted when the case came before the King's Bench. He asks the commons to ask the King that, with the assent of the lords, and by authority of parliament, he might have an action or actions against those who falsely accused him.
