Nicholas de Thame, tiler, complains that his suit against Thomas Gysors is being unreasonably delayed by his opponent, and especially by Janynkyn Esmond, chief clerk of Thomas Newenton, formerly Sheriff of London, who has altered and made away with part of the record of the case, in favour of the defendant. He asks that the counsel of both parties, and the clerk, might come before the King to be examined on oath as to the truth of this, and that the clerk might be ordered to deliver the part of the record that he has removed to Richard Whityngton, the current Sheriff; and that he might have a writ to receive this, and to proceed to judgment.
