Nature of request
Henry de Pynkeneye asks that, in consideration of his great hardship and expenses in repairing Luffness castle, which he had of the King's gift and which is now in the King's hand, he might grant him the castle, or an allowance elsewhere, or that he might have the castle until he has recovered his costs.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.The Chamberlain is to examine the costs and expenses which the same Henry incurred in the said castle, and he is to inform the King; and the King will ordain his will on this. But he does not intend that Ebolo de Montibus be removed from the keeping of the said castle.

Dated by Bain to the period 1300-07. CPR 1301-7 p.106, dated 24 January 1303, is a pardon for a robbery allegedly committed against the petitioner at Luffness.
