Nature of request
The petitioners state that the fishermen and garthmen living by the River Trent are setting nets called 'stalkers' and other traps in the river during the prohibited season, and are destroying the young salmon and other fish by this. They ask that it might be ordained in the present parliament that no-one should set a net of this type, or any other net or trap during the prohibited season, or catch or destroy the young fish during that season.
