Nature of request
The heirs and tenants of the chief assessors of the fifteenth in the late King's sixth year state that they were each assessed at the same rate for the fifteenth, until they sued writs to be assessed for the proportion they each held of the original assessors' lands. Now, however, the Barons of the Exchequer want them to sue new writs for this at each fifteenth, which would impoverish them. They request a remedy, so that they do not have to suffer these charges, either for the past or for the future.

This petition would seem to come from the reign of Richard II, and is earlier than SC 8/102/5058, in which the petitioners ask to be discharged altogether, and which is tentatively dated to 1381-1382.
