Description
Petitioners
John Plays, knight.
Name(s)
Plays, John
Addressees
King and council.
Places mentioned
Westminster
Langley Marish, [Buckinghamshire]
Wraysbury [Buckinghamshire].
Nature of request
John Plays states that he sued to the last parliament to have delivery of the manors of Langley and Wraysbury, of his inheritance, and that because the petition mentioned certain records in Chancery, it was endorsed that the records should be examined there before the Chancellor and others of the council, and that justice should be done to him. The Chancllor and council have not wanted to do anything before they had writs from the Treasury certifying that there was nothing there that could bar John's claim. Two of these writs have been returned, stating that there is no bar, but others have not. John asks that the Treasurer and Chamberlains might be ordered to return the writs, and that the Chancllor might be ordered to proceed in the matter.
Nature of endorsement
[None].
