[This petition is damaged, and almost illegible.]John Topclyf, sergeant-at-arms, states that Henry IV granted him a ferry called Kexbiferie (Kexby Ferry) together with a messuage in Yorkshire, for term of life, which he held until the present Earl of Northumberland was restored, because it was part of his lordship, and that he has served the commons as sergeant-at-arms at every parliament for the last ten years, without any reward. He asks the commons to ask the King and lords to grant him £10 annually from the alnage of York and elsewhere in the county.
