Description

King.
Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Scone make two requests:1) They state that when the King's ministers took from them, at his command, the wood they had to rebuild their church, in order to repair the bridge at Perth and for other uses, the King promised to give them an allowance for this. They ask that, in allowance for this wood and their other damages, they might have the relief of John de Gleneske, which amounts to 200 marks.2) They also request confirmation of their charters, according to the confirmation of King Alexander.
Nature of endorsement
The King wills that they have a writ to the Chamberlain to inquire into how much wood was taken from them for his use, and the Chamberlain is to deliver the same amount to them, and worked up in the same way as the Abbot's wood was. And he is to have it carried to Scone at the King's expense. With regard to the confirmation, they are to go before Roger le Brabanzon and his colleagues with their charters, and the charters are to be examined there. And the King will afterwards ordain his will on the confirmation. With regard to the relief, nothing.
