- [This petition is damaged.]The citizens of Salisbury state that they are merchants and workmen, living by their merchandise and work, and that they are outside the bounds of the forest, but are charged with filling various offices in the manor and palace of Clarendon and the forest of Grovely. They ask that they might not be charged wiht this in future, and that for such offices good people of the country who are within the bounds of the forest, so that they can occupy themselves with their merchandise and workmanship in peace.
