William Burley of Calais states that at the King's last coming from Boulogne to England he granted him the gift of seven houses in Calais called 'little shops', to hold for term of life; now, in consideration of his service to the King since his coming to England, he asks that he might have letters patent for this gift, backdated to 1 October in the first year of the King's reign.
