[This petition is damaged] William Stork of Bordeaux states that on the day of St Simon and St Jude last, a ship of his, coming with wines from Brittany, was wrecked off the Isle of Wight, and much of the wine was washed up there [and seized by the local people]. He requests a commission to the Keepers and Bailiffs of the Isle, and to the Mayor and Bailiffs of Southampton, [to recover the wines and other goods], paying for the effort of those who saved them, according to the custom of the country.
