[This petition is damaged.]William Stoke of London states that at his suit one John Cantebrugge, clerk, was sent to Newgate prison until he had made satisfaction to him for a certain sum of money, but that he has been allowed to go free on pledge, without agreement of the parties or any payment being made to William. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
He is to sue his action, if he has such a right, against the warden of the prison at common law.
