- The petitioners ask the commons to ask the King to ordain, with the assent of the lords and by authority of parliament, that they and their under-sheriffs and clerks might be discharged for remaining in office longer than their agreed term, specifically between the morrow of All Saints in the King's twenty-seventh year [1448] and the Purification of Our Lady in the King's twenty-eighth year [1450]: provided that they shall not be excused any other offence committed by them in office.

- The enrolment of this petition is enrolled on the roll of the parliament of 1449, prorogued to 1450 (Rot. Parl. vol. V, p.202a). The reference to the feast of the Purification last shows that it comes from 1450.
