Nature of request
John Skelton, esquire, states that the King made him a grant of 40 marks annually for term of life, in compensation for an earlier grant made to him by Henry V and later resumed, and in consideration of the ransom he paid when captured by the French on the King's business, which will be resumed by the act of resumption in the present parliament. He asks that he might be provided for in the terms of a schedule attached to this petition.
Nature of endorsement
[On dorse of SC 8/141/7011B] Because of the considerations contained in this bill, and also because of the great age of John Skelton, it is agreed by the lords spiritual and temporal that it is to be done as is desired.
