- Stephen de Stokes states that he has a wood enclosed among the woods of the knights of the country, adjoining the King's forest of King's Cliffe but not part of the forest, and that, although the King has granted by his charter that each man may make profitable use of his own wood, the foresters of the forest are preventing him from cutting down and carrying away wood, and distrain his people, and take large sums of money from them, so that he cannot use the wood to his profit. He requests a remedy.
